Nilgiris Cardamom is one of the most important and ancient spice crops of India. The highly aromatic seeds and fruits of Elettaria cardamomum, Maton. It is also called the “Queen of spices”. The plant is a herbaceous perennial, which is a native of South India. In India, it occurs both in wild and cultivated conditions in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Sikkim. In the Nilgiris, it is grown in Burliar and Gudalur.

The Nilgiris Cardamom are light coloured with a delicate flavour.
